Pepper Crab Masala

Spicy Crab(Njandu) masala

Ingredients
  

  • 1 - Fresh crab or cooked crab if using fresh crab, put it in boiling water for a few mins
  • 1 no Bay leaf Vazhana/Karuga ela
  • 2 nos Onion big
  • 3 nos Tomato
  • 1 tbsp Garam masala
  • 2 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Chilly powder
  • 1 tsp Peppercorns Kurumulaku
  • 1 tsp Fennel seeds Perinjeerakam
  • 1 tsp Grated coconut
  • 1 piece Cinnamon Karugapatta
  • Ginger garlic paste

Instructions
 

  • Dry roast peppercorns, fennel seeds, grated coconut and cinnamon and grind it to a fine paste.
  • Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
  • Add bay leaf followed by onions and fry well.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste and fry, till it turns golden brown.
  • Add tomato and salt.
  • Add all the powders and fry, till the tomato gets mashed and the oil starts to separate.
  • Add crab and fry.
  • Add the ground paste along with a cup of water.
  • Add salt, if reqd.
  • Cook, till it gets thick.
  • :- Serve with chappathis or white rice.
