can add a tsp of vinegar or tamarind pulp instead, Dry mango powder

Oil for deep frying
Instructions
Clean and cut fish into medium pieces.
Grind together all powders, salt and fennel seeds along with a tsp of oil and a little water into a smooth paste.
Marinate the fish with the above masala for atleast 1/2 an hr.
Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
Deep fry the marinated fish.
When the fish gets half cooked, add 1/4 of the sliced onions.
Fry, till the onions turn golden brown.
:- Serve hot as a starter.
