Chatpat Dal

Dal(Parippu) with onions and tomatoes

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Masoor dal Parippu
  • 1/2 cup Red gram Thuvaraparippu
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Salt As reqd
  • 1 tsp Chilly powder
  • 2 nos Onions chopped
  • 2 nos Green chillies
  • 2 nos Tomato
  • 2 - Garlic pods optional)(chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • Coriander leaves
  • Curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp Oil

Instructions
 

  • Cook both the dals with turmeric powder, salt and enough water.
  • When done, mash them well.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Splutter mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
  • Add chilly powder, green chillies, onions, curry leaves, garlic and tomatoes.
  • Add coriander leaves and fry.
  • Add the above into the dal mixture and mix well.
  • :- Serve with chappathis or rice.
