Erulli Chutney

Erulli Chutney, a spicy, tasty accompaniment for idli, dosa. Erulli is nothing but Onions. This is an instant chutney prepared quickly within few minutes. This prepared mainly with onion and coconut as main ingredients. The sauted onions, green chillies are grinded together with coconut, tamarind and seasoned with mustard seeds. If you have any guest suddenly you can prpare this chutney and serve with idli, dosa.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 nos Onions medium
  • 6 nos Green chillies
  • 3 tsp Grated coconut
  • Tamarind(Puli)
  • Salt As reqd
  • 3 tsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing

Instructions
 

  • Heat 2 tsp of oil in a pan.
  • Add chopped onions and saute for a few seconds.
  • Add green chillies and saute again.
  • Grind together sauteed onion, green chillies, coconut, tamarind and salt to a smooth paste.
  • Heat 1 tsp of oil in a pan.
  • Splutter mustard seeds and add it to the above chutney.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • :- Serve with chappathis or akki roti.
