Protein Vada

Vadas made with Garbanzo beans(Kabuli kadala) and Soya chunks

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Garbanzo beans Kabuli kadala
  • 10 - Soya chunks Nutrela
  • 1 no Onion finely chopped, big
  • 4 nos Green chillies finely chopped
  • Coriander leaves finely chopped
  • 10 nos Curry leaves finely chopped
  • 2 nos Garlic pods finely chopped
  • 1/4" inch Ginger finely chopped
  • or
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  • Salt As reqd
  • Oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • Soak garbanzo beans in water for 4 - 5 hours.
  • Soak soya chunks in hot water for 15 mins.
  • Grind together garbanzo beans and soya chunks with a little water to form a coarse mixture.
  • Mix together the finely chopped onions, green chillies, coriander leaves, curry leaves, ginger and garlic.
  • Add the ground mixture into it and mix well.
  • Add salt and mix well again.
  • Make small vadas off the mixture.
  • Deep fry them in oil on a medium flame.
  • :- Optionally, you can add 1/2 tsp of masala powder to the mixture too.
