Spicy Prawn(Chemmeen) curry

Ingredients
  

  • 1 kg Prawns Chemmeen
  • 2 nos Onions
  • 3 nos Chillies
  • Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
  • Oil As reqd
  • Turmeric powder
  • Salt As reqd
  • Chilly powder As reqd

For the masala paste:-

  • 3 tbsp Coriander seeds
  • 1 tbsp Poppy seeds Khashakhasha
  • 2 tbsp Grated coconut
  • 3 pieces Cinnamon Karugapatta
  • 5 nos Cloves
  • 2 nos Cardamom Elakka
  • 2 nos Garlic pods

Instructions
 

  • Heat coriander seeds and poppy seeds without oil.
  • Grind together all the ingredients listed in the masala paste with some water. Keep it aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add onion slices and chillies and fry, until they turn brown.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste and fry.
  • Add prawns, turmeric powder and salt and fry for another 10 mins.
  • Add chilly powder and the masala paste and stir well.
  • Add water so as to cover the prawns.
  • Cook, until the water becomes gravy.
