Green Masala Chicken

Chicken with the colour and flavour of coriander

Ingredients
  

  • 1 kg Chicken
  • 3 nos Onions thinly sliced, big
  • 2 nos Tomato thinly sliced
  • 1 no Potato cut into cubes
  • 1 big Coriander leaves leaves only
  • 6 - Green chillies
  • 2 tsp Poppy seeds Khashakhasha
  • 1" piece Ginger medium
  • 4 nos Garlic pods
  • 4 nos Cloves Grambu
  • 10 nos Black pepper
  • 2 sticks Cinnamon Karugapatta
  • Salt As reqd
  • 5 tbsp Oil

Instructions
 

  • Grind together coriander leaves, green chillies, poppy seeds, ginger, garlic, cloves, black pepper and cinnamon sticks into a fine paste.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Fry onions and tomatoes, until the onions turn golden brown.
  • Add potatoes and mix well.
  • Add the ground paste and stir for 5 mins.
  • Add chicken and stir again for 5 mins.
  • Add water and salt and mix well.
  • Cover and cook, till chicken is cooked and the gravy thickens.
  • :- Serve with roti or rice.
