Heat 1/4 cup of oil in a pan or a kadai.
Add onions and saute, till they turn golden brown.
Add cumin seeds and fry for a while.
Add chicken, ginger, garlic, salt and green chillies and fry for 1 - 2 mins.
Lower the heat and simmer, till the chicken becomes tender.
Increase heat and cook, till the water is completely dried up.
Add coconut milk and coriander leaves.
Bring it to a boil.
Fry garlic slices and peanuts in remaining oil for a minute or two and pour into chicken mixture.
Cook, till the sauce thickens slightly.
