Wash mutton and add turmeric to it.
Chop onion and tomato roughly.
Add the mutton and the cut onion, tomato and garlic into a pressure cooker and fill with water, till the mutton is three-fourths covered.
Cook upto 2 whistles on a medium flame.
Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
Add cumin seeds and curry leaves.
Add the contents of the cooker along with pepper powder and cumin powder.
:- Freshly ground is better.
Add salt.
If the mutton is not completely cooked, cover the pan with a lid and keep on a medium low flame, until its cooked. Or else put on medium high flame and allow the water to evaporate..
:- Serve with rice or rotis.
:- Do not open, until the steam subsides in the cooker.
:- If you don`t have pressure cooker, you can boil.
:- You can adjust the gravy level by waiting for the excess water to evaporate or choose a gravier recipe.
:- If you are unsure of the water - little excess water is fine but not too little water.
