For preparing Real Vegetable Biriyani, first soak rice in water for 10 mins.
Fry rice in ghee for few minutes and keep it aside.
Grind together garlic, ginger, 6 cloves, 3 cinnamon sticks, 3 red chillies, aniseeds, coriander seeds and coconut to a fine paste.
Heat oil in a pressure pan.
Add remaining cinnamon, cloves, bay leaf and cardamoms.
Add onions followed by tomatoes and vegetables and fry for 2 mins.
Add ground paste and saute, till the raw smell of garlic-ginger leaves.
Add rice and water.
Wait till the water boils and then close the cooker and keep the stove in sim and wait for two whistles.
