Rajmah Curry

Rajmah Curry is a tasty South Asian dish very popular in North India. Rajmah curry is delicious thick gravy that goes well with rotis and even rice. Kidney Beans are nutritious, rich in protein and various vitamins and minerals. Consumption of red kidney beans reduces risk of obesity and overweight. Ingredients
  

  • 1 can Kidney beans cooked, Raajmah
  • 3 nos Onion cut into small pieces
  • 2 - Garlic cloves minced
  • Ginger A small piece, minced
  • 1 tbsp Rajmah masala powder
  • 1 tsp Chilly powder
  • 1 tsp Garam masala powder
  • Curry leaves Few
  • 2 tbsp Tomato pulp
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • Coriander leaves For garnishing, chopped
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • For preparing Rajmah Curry, first heat oil in a pan. Splutter mustard seeds.
  • Add onions and curry leaves. Stir till onions are translucent and add garlic and ginger. Saute for a few seconds. Make sure that garlic is not browned.
  • Add rajmah masala powder, chilly powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder and tomato pulp. Check for salt. Allow mixture to cook for a few seconds.
  • Stir till masala gets the consistency of a paste.
  • Add the cooked red kidney beans. Add some water if needed. Cook for a few minutes till gravy has thickened. Remove pan from fire.
  • Garnish Rajmah Curry with coriander leaves.
