Sieve the maida and soda together.
Break the egg into a bowl.
Mix together all the ingredients into a firm dough, using a little milk.
Make 4 balls off the dough.
Roll out each one into a chappathi of half an inch thickness.
Cut out with 2 round cutters(1 big and 1 small) so that a small bangle sized ring is formed.
Make rings similarly, using the remaining dough.
Deep fry them in oil or vanaspati, over a medium flame, till the doughnuts are cooked, crisp and golden.
Drain and allow it to cool.
