Ingredients
  

  • 6 nos Raw bananas
  • 1/2 no Coconut
  • 6 nos Green chilies
  • 1 gm Turmeric powder
  • 2 nos Garlic cloves
  • 1 no Red onion Kunulli
  • Salt As reqd
  • 15 ml Coconut oil
  • 10 gm Sesame seeds Ellu
  • 2 sprigs Curry leaves

Instructions
 

  • For preparing Vazhakka Thoran, peel and cut the banana into cubes and wash them well.
  • Grind together green chillies, turmeric, coconut, garlic and onion. Keep this aside.
  • Add 1 cup of water to bananas and cook till nearly dry.
  • Add salt.
  • Add ground ingredients to cooked bananas. Allow steam to pass through.
  • Mix well and check the seasonings.
  • Heat oil and crackle sesame seeds, add curry leaves and fry them for a second.
  • Transfer the cooked bananas to a serving dish and temper with the sesame seeds and curry leaves.
  • Vazhakka Thoran is ready.
