Ingredients
  

  • 1 kg Fish
  • Salt As reqd
  • Turmeric powder A pinch
  • 4 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 2 nos Onions large
  • 5 nos Garlic crushed
  • 2 tsp Ginger grated
  • 14 oz Fresh tomatoes
  • Pepper As reqd
  • 3 tsp Cumin powder
  • 5 tsp Coriander powder
  • 2 tsp Mustards seeds crushed
  • 2 nos Cloves Grambu
  • 3 nos Cardamom Elakka
  • Chilly powder As reqd
  • 2 tbsp Vinegar

Instructions
 

  • Cut the fish in portions, wash, dry and sprinkle with salt and a pinch of turmeric. Set the fish aside.
  • Slice the onions and saute in oil.
  • Add the crushed garlic and grated ginger.
  • Season with salt, turmeric, and pepper to taste. Mix thoroughly.
  • Lower the flame and add the fresh tomatoes. Simmer until the tomatoes are reduced to a fairly thick sauce.
  • Add cumin powder, coriander powder, crushed mustards seeds, cloves, cardamom pods, chilly powder to taste and vinegar. Mix thoroughly and simmer for five minutes.
  • When the sauce is prepared, add the portions of fish.
  • Cover and simmer until the fish is cooked through and tender. Care should be taken not to overcook so that the fish does not break up.
  • :- Serve hot on a bed of rice.
