For seasoning:

Instructions
Pressure cook whole green gram dal.
Cut onions lengthwise(thin pieces) and tomatoes into small pieces.
Heat butter in a pan.
Add ginger, garlic, cloves and cinnamon. Fry for few minutes.
Add onions and fry till it becomes soft.
Add chopped tomatoes.
Sprinkle turmeric powder, coriander powder and chilly powder.
Pour 1/2 cup of water with the cooked green gram dal.
Add coconut, salt and sugar. Cover the pan and bring it to boil.
Finally, add paneer cubes and cook for few minutes.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
