Beetroot Raita

Raita with beetroot

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup Beetroot grated
  • 4 tbsp Grated coconut
  • 1/2 cup Yoghurt/Curd Thayiru
  • 3/4 cup Buttermilk Moru
  • Salt As reqd
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar
  • For seasoning:
  • 2 tsp Coconut Oil
  • 2 nos Red chillies Kollamulaku
  • 1 tsp Black gram Uzhunnuparippu
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds

Instructions
 

  • Pressure cook beetroot and grate it.
  • Grind grated coconut adding water.
  • Mix yoghurt and buttermilk nicely.
  • Add salt and sugar.
  • Add grated beetroot and mix well.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add all the ingredients for seasoning.
  • Pour this over the prepared buttermilk raita.
  • :- Serve with plain rice.
