Moru Kolambu

Ingredients
  

  • 100 gm Red gram, Black gram(Uzhunnuparippu), Green gram(Cheruparippu) Thuvaraparippu
  • Coriander seeds A little
  • 200 ml Butter Milk Preferably a bit sour
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Fenugreek(Uluva) seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 2 nos Green or red chillies
  • Curry leaves A few
  • Asafoetida A pinch, Kayam

Instructions
 

  • Soak the mixture of dals in water along with a little coriander seeds overnight.
  • Grind the above in a mixer into a rough mixture.
  • Mix this with the butter milk and stir well.
  • Add a little turmeric powder and boil this mixture for 5-7 minutes after adding salt.
  • Heat a little oil in a pan and add mustard seeds followed by fenugreek seeds, asafoetida, broken red chillies and curry leaves.
  • When the mixture starts to boil, add this seasoning to it and mix well.
  • :- Serve with steaming rice.
