Gram flour
Kadalamavu

Rice flour

Thymol/Ajwain

Instructions
Sieve the gram flour and the rice flour.
Knead them to make fine thick dough by adding very little water.
Wash the vamu and add them to the above dough along with the reqd amount of salt.
Mix well together.
Take a Murrukku maker and put a lemon-sized ball of the above dough into it.
Heat oil in a wok for about 10 minutes over a medium flame.
Place the murrukku maker over the hot oil and slowly move it around by pressing the lid so as to get medium sized murukkus.
Fry the murukkus in oil till they become golden brown.
Place them on a tissue paper to get rid of the excess oil.
Store them in an airtight container.
