Wash the varaal fish pieces well and drain.
Refer the ingredients given under marination. Make a semi-thick paste of all the ingredients given under the section. Apply the mixture carefully on the gashed fish pieces and keep aside for 30 minutes.
Now, take a clean fry pan and place a cleaned banana leaf on the bottom so that it covers the whole portion.
Arrange the marinated fish pieces on the banana leaf placed at the bottom area of the fry pan.
Cover the top with another banana leaf.
For getting more weight, you can place a vessel on top of the fish pieces with some water.
Cook the fry pan in medium flame. When you see that the moisture content on the banana leaves has gone, flip the banana leaf upside down so the other side too is cooked.
