Masaledar Jeera Aloo

Have you not found baby potatoes cute.. Along with being cute, they taste yum too.. In the below recipe, I have given the regular size potato a no and taken baby potatoes instead. Come along and enjoy while I cook this tasty and spicy dish which is a good accompaniment with steamed rice and rasam / dal fry.

Ingredients
  

  • 15 nos Baby Potatoes
  • 2 teaspoonful Jeera
  • Turmeric powder half teaspoon
  • Chilly powder half teaspoon
  • Coriander powder half teaspoon
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • Juice of one full lime
  • oil for sauté
  • salt to taste
  • coriander leaves and dry fenugreek leaves for garnishing

Instructions
 

  • Cook baby potatoes ( with skin) in cooker or in hot water till they are cooked. Pl take care not to overcook the potatoes.
  • Once cooked, peel the skin and make small holes with a fork.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add jeera seeds to it. Once they crackle, add all the dry masala powders.
  • Sauté them well till the raw flavour goes off. Then add the baby potatoes and give it a nice stir. You may add salt at this stage
  • Close it with a lid and allow it to cook on low flame for about a minute. One done, switch off the flame and add lime juice and garnish with dry fenugreek and coriander leaves

Notes

You may use the regular potatoes instead of baby potatoes
baby potatoes to be put in whole and not to be cut
