Cherupayar Curry/Moong Dal Curry-Home Style

Cherupayar curry and puttu is a common kerala breakfast recipe. This is also a protein rich curry for dinner along with chapathi,roti etc..This is normally prepared with the green moong dal, which is highly nutritious.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 cup Moong dal/green gram soak over night
  • 1 cup Coconut
  • 3 Green chilly
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Red chilly powder
  • Curry leaves little
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as required

Instructions
 

  • Pressure cook the moong dal with turmeric powder,chily powder,green chilly,salt and water as required for 4-5 whistles.
  • Grind grated coconut with little water and add into the cooked curry.
  • Add curry leaves,mix well and allow to cook for 2 minutes.before it starts to boil turn off the flame.
  • Now your delicious cherupayar curry is ready to serve.
