Meen Mulakittath is a typical Malabar fish curry Fish curry is a hot favourite among Keralites Meen Mulakittath tastes best the day after it is prepared. In Malabar,they used tamarind pulp (Valanpuli),here I used kudampuli.

Instructions
Clean and wash the fish and keep it aside. Heat coconut oil in a mud pot, splutter fenugreek seeds,add shallots, garlic, ginger, green chillies,curry leaves and saute it well.
Add turmeric powder, kashmiri chilli powder,fennel powder and saute it again till the raw smell goes away.
Now add 1 cup of water,tamarind,salt and mix well. When it starts to boil, add fish pieces.Cover and cook for 10 minutes or until done.
Meen Mulakittath is ready to serve. It goes well with boiled rice or boiled kappa.
