Meen Mulakittath is a typical Malabar fish curry Fish curry is a hot favourite among Keralites Meen Mulakittath tastes best the day after it is prepared. In Malabar,they used tamarind pulp (Valanpuli),here I used kudampuli.

- Fish(fish of any kind) - 1/2
- Small onion(finely chopped) - 20
- Ginger(finely chopped) - 1 medium
- garlic(finely chopped) - 6 pods
- green chilli - 3
- Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Kashmiri chilli powder(adjust according to ur choice) - 2 tbsp
- Fennel powder - 1/2 tsp
- Tamarind - 3-4 pieces
- Coconut oil - 3 tbsp
- Curry leaves -
- Salt(to taste) -

Instructions
- Clean and wash the fish and keep it aside. Heat coconut oil in a mud pot, splutter fenugreek seeds,add shallots, garlic, ginger, green chillies,curry leaves and saute it well.
- Add turmeric powder, kashmiri chilli powder,fennel powder and saute it again till the raw smell goes away.
- Meen Mulakittath is ready to serve. It goes well with boiled rice or boiled kappa.
