Kaya Parippu Curry/Raw Banana Dal Curry

Ingredients
  

  • 3 Raw banana
  • 1/2 cup Dal
  • 5 Bird eye chilly
  • 1/2 cup Coconut
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • curry leaves few
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • Water as required
  • Salt as required

Instructions
 

  • For preparing Kaya Parippu Curry, first peel and cube raw banana. Clean and wash Tur dal.
  • Grind coconut with bird eye chilly with little water to make a fine paste.
  • Add raw banana, dal, turmeric powder and salt in a pressure cooker.
  • Pressure cook it with 2 cups of water for 15 minutes.
  • Lightly mash the cooked banana and dal.
  • Add ground coconut paste to the mashed dal-raw banana mixture and cook over low heat for 5 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a pan, splutter mustard seeds, toss little curry leaves and mix it with the curry.
  • Kaya parippu curry is ready to serve.
