Papaya Payasam

Papaya payasam is a tasty sweet dish made with the fruit papaya.This is so delicious usually made in the state Kerala during festive occasions. This is so simple and quick recipe to be made. Just saute the papaya puree in ghee and add jaggery syrup to it. When this mixture boils add a little amount of coconut milk and cardamom powder .Now the tasty papaya payasam is ready to relish.

Ingredients
  

  • papaya cubes 100 gms
  • ghee 2tsp
  • cardamom powderr 1/2 sp
  • nut fried in ghee 2 tsp
  • jaggery 100 gms
  • coconut milk 100 ml

Instructions
 

  • make papaya paste in a mixer
  • saute it in ghee
  • mean while make a jaggery syrup by heating it in water for it to dissolve
  • gradually pour the syrup in payasam pan
  • when it starts boiling add coconut milk to it and keep in low flame
  • finally add cardamom powder and remove from flame and serve with fried nuts in it.
