Mix yoghurt and turmeric powder in a bowl. Cut the chicken into medium sized pieces. Marinate the cleaned chicken pieces with this mixture and keep it aside for 30 minutes.
Heat 3tbsp of oil in a pan, fry one chopped onion and keep it aside.
Add the balance onion, ginger, garlic paste in the same pan and saute it. Add all the above mentioned powders and saute for a minute.
Add 2 tbsp of water to it and mix. Then add the chicken pieces and stir for 2-3 minutes.
Then add water, when it starts to boil, cover and cook for 10 minutes on low flame.
Now add the fried onion, mix well.
Add vinegar and switch off the flame.
Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan and fry the coconut pieces and pour this over the curry.
Goan Chicken Curry is ready. Serve hot with fried rice, ghee rice or chapathi.
