Bisibelabath
Bisibelabath is a tasty and nutritious concoction of rice, lentils and vegetables. Bisibelabath is a very popular dish in Karnataka. The name Bisi bele bhaath is a phrase, which literally means Hot Lentil Rice, as in Kannada.

Thurdal 1 cup rice 1 cup small onion 1 cup garlic 5 no. red chili 2 no. cumin seed 1 tsp mustard 1/2 tsp curry leaves 5 no. radish 1 no drum stick 1 no. broad bean 1 cup brinjal 4 no. yellow pumpkin 1 cup salt to taste turmeric powder 1 tsp sambar powder 3 tsp tamarind water 1/2 cup
heat the oil in the cooker and temper the mustard, cumin seed and red chili
add chopped onion and garlic and saute it
now add drum stick, field bean and radish and mix well and allow to cook for 3 mins
add brinjal and yellow pumpkin and mix well
add salt and turmeric powder and allow to for 3 mins
add sambar powder and mix well
add thordal and 4 cup of water and allow cook for 5 mins in medium flame
add tamarind water and mix it
add soaked rice and allow to cook for 2 mins and close the lid and allow for 1 whistle
now bisibelabath is ready to serve
