Papaya Jam
Papaya Jam is a traditional Cameroonian recipe for a classic jelly, made with papaya and lemon juice, that is traditionally served with bread. It is easy to make and best for this holiday season
Prep Time 30 minutes mins
Total Time 30 minutes mins
500 Gms Riped Pappaya Peeled and seeds removed pieces 1 No Lemon 1 cup Sugar
Smash/Grind the Pappaya pieces well (without adding water)
Cut the Lemon and take out the juice and keep it aside (the lemon juice should be prepared just before a minute or so otherwise it will taste bitter)
Heat the frying pan/Cheenachatty and put the smashed/grinded Pappaya paste and stir it well.
After about five minutes add Sugar into this paste and stir it further
Then add Lemon juice also and stir the mix continuously
When the mix is cooked well and colour turns into brown and water is evaporated fully, put off the stove and allow to cool the mix.
