Tomato Biriyani

Tomato biriyani is a spicy and flavourful variety rice that tastes great with simple raitha and pappads.

Ingredients
  

  • biriyani rice 2 cups
  • water 4 cups
  • bay leaf 1
  • star anise 1
  • cinnamon 2
  • cloves 6
  • cardamom 5
  • fennel seeds 1/2 sp
  • green chilli 6
  • mint leaves few
  • onions chopped 1 cup
  • 8 tomatoes 7
  • ginger garlic paste 3 sp
  • coriander leaves few
  • salt

Instructions
 

  • heat pan and add the spices
  • add mint leaves and green chillies
  • add onions
  • add ginger garlic paste
  • add tomatoes and leave it untill they turn soft
  • add salt
  • boil water seperately and add to it and also add coriander leaves and taste water and adjust salt and spice
  • soak rice for 15 mins and drain the waterr completely and now add it to the boiling water.
  • when rice and water comes to a equal height simmer flame and close lid and leave for 10 mins.turn off aloow the gas to settle.
  • open and stir it gently and serve with raithas
