Sundakka Rice

This rice is very quick to make dish with less ingredients. This is good for diet and lunch box

Ingredients
  

  • sundakka 1 cup
  • Boiled Rice 1 cup
  • bengal gram 1/2 cup
  • small onion 1/2 cup
  • garlic 4 no.
  • red chili powder 1/2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • sugar 1/2 tsp
  • turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • grated coconut 1/2 cup
  • tamarind water 1/2 cup

Instructions
 

  • boiled the rice
  • cut and remove the seed inside the sundakka, clean and wash it for 5 times
  • soak in the tamarind water for 15 minutes to remove the bitterness
  • in a pan add water and bengal and cook it
  • once the bengal gran get 3/4 cooked, add sundakka which is soaked in tamarind water, salt, sugar, red chili powder and turmeric powder and allow to cook
  • chop the small onion and garlic
  • now add tamarind water and allow to cook for 5 minutes in medium flame
  • add 2 glass of water and allow to cook until the water get dry
  • once the water get dry, add onion and garlic and allow to cook for 10 minutes until the onion and garlic get mix well and cooked
  • now add grated coconut, mix well
  • now add boiled rice and mix it
  • allow to cook for 5 minutes and turn off the flame
  • now sundakka rice is ready to serve
