Aval Upma

Aval Upma is a quick fix breakfast recipe which you can prepare in a jiffy with minimum and easily available ingredients. This aval recipe can also be prepared in just a few minutes time and is very healthy, delicious and filling.

Ingredients
  

  • Aval 1 Cup
  • onion 1 no.
  • green chili 5 no.
  • oil 3 tsp
  • mustard 1/2 tsp
  • Bengal gram 1 tsp
  • broken urad dal 1 tsp
  • curry leaves 1 bunch
  • coriander leaves to garnish
  • salt to taste
  • turmeric powder 1 tsp

Instructions
 

  • Soak the aval in water for 10 minutes
  • chop the onion, green chili and curry leaves
  • in a heat the oil and temper the mustard, bengal gram and broken urad dal
  • add onion, green chili and curry leaves and saute it until the onion turn into brown
  • add salt and turmeric powder and mix well
  • add aval and mix well
  • allow to cook for 5 minutes in a medium flame
  • aval upma is ready to serve. garnish with the coriander leaves
