kalkandu sadam, This is a special kids of sweet pongal dish that has a very special taste. It is the traditional sweet in the districts of Tamil Nadu during festive and special occasions.

Ingredients
  

  • kalkandu (sweet sugar cubes) 1 cup
  • raw rice 1 cup
  • milk 1 cup
  • water 2 1/2 cup
  • cardamom powder 1/2 tsp
  • cashew and raisins 1 tsp

Instructions
 

  • soak rice for 1/2 an hour .put it in pressure cooker
  • add water and milk to it
  • cook till 3 whisle and mash it well
  • meanwhile sprikle some water on sugar cubes and allow it to boil for a string consistency
  • pour it in the cooked rice. stir it in low flame
  • add cardamom powder
  • add fried cashews and raisins and serve
