Ridge Gourd Poriyal

This is very easy and simple recipe and gets done in few minutes. This goes well with rasam, and curd rice.

Ingredients
  

  • Ridge Gourd 1 cup
  • small onion 15 no.
  • red chili 1 no.
  • curry leaves 6 no.
  • crystal salt to taste
  • sambhar powder 1 tsp
  • oil 3 tsp
  • urad dal 1/2 tsp
  • mustard 1 tsp
  • bengal gram 1/2 tsp
  • Grated Coconut ¼ cup

Instructions
 

  • peel the skin and chop the ridge gourd
  • in a pan heat the oil and temper the mustard, broken urad dal
  • add onion, curry leaves and red chili and saute it
  • add chopped ridge gourd, salt, sambhar powder, and one glass of water, mix well and allow to cook in medium flame until the water get dry and ridge gourd get cooked
  • once the water get dry, add grated coconut and mix well and turn off the flame
  • ridge gourd poriyal is ready to serve
