peel the skin and grate the carrot
chop the onion, garlic and red chili
heat the oil in the pan and temper the mustard, broken urad dal, curry leaves and red chilies
add chopped onion, garlic and saute it for 2 minutes
add grated carrot and mix well
add salt and turmeric powder and mix well
allow to cook for 5 minutes in medium flame, dont add water cook in oil
after 5 minutes add grated coconut and mix well
Allow to cook for 2 minutes in a low flame and turn off the flame
carrot poriyal is ready to serve
