Beet Root Rasam

Beetroot rasam is quite an interesting rasam recipe with chopped beetroots boiled and then ground into a coarse pate with coconut and rasam powder.this good taste for rice.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Beetroot
  • 1 tblsp Coriander seed
  • 1/2 tsp Fenugreek
  • 4 Dry chili
  • 1 tsp Jeera
  • 2 tblsp coconut
  • 1 tsp Rasam powder
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • 1/2 tsp mustard
  • curry leaves little
  • 1/2 Asafeotida
  • Salt as taste
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric
  • Tamarind small
  • 6 chopped Garlic
  • Jaggery little

Instructions
 

  • In pan dry roast coriander seed, fenugreek, jeera,dry chili and coconut and allow to cool. Boil beetroot and keep aside .
  • Coarsely grind the coconut mixture
  • Now add boiled beet root and grind thick paste
  • In mean time extract the tamarind water and add salt bring to boil raw smell goes
  • Now add beetroot paste and boil for 5 mins
  • Now add little jaggery and stir it
  • Now add rasam powder and turmeric and
  • Now temper oil with mustard, asafeotida, curry leaves, dry chili,chopped garlic and turn off
  • Now its ready to serve Beetroot rasam .
