Paruppu Urundai Kuzhambu

Paruppu Urundai Kuzhambu/Kulambu is a famous South Indian gravy. Though the preparation takes a bit longer than the usual daily eats, it is totally worth the effort.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Toor Dal
  • Tamarind small ball
  • 1/4 cup Coconut paste
  • 15 no Shallots
  • curry leaves little
  • 2 tblsp Sambhar powder
  • 2 Dry chili
  • 1 tsp Fennel seeds
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tblsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp fenugreek

Instructions
 

  • Soak toor dal for 2 hour or over night
  • in a blender add dry chilies, fennel seeds and little salt and grind together
  • Now add Dal without water, grind coarsely and keep aside
  • Now make small balls and steam all for 10 mins
  • In a pan add oil and temper Mustard and cumin and fenugreek
  • Now add Chopped onions and curry leaves
  • Add sambhar powder and salt and turmeric mix well
  • Add water to tamarind and make thick tamarind water and add it.
  • Add coconut paste, mix well and boil for 5 mins
  • Now add steam balls and cook for 5 mins
  • Now its ready to serve Paruppu Urundai Kuzhambu
