Restaurent Style Dal Tadka

It is a tasty north Indian curry we can eat with chappathi and rice.Dal tadka is the most important dal recipe served in all Indian restaurents.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Toor dal
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 Onion
  • 2 Coriander leaves
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • 4 Green chilly
  • 2 Redchilly
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Chilli powder
  • 5 Garlic flakes
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 cup Water

Instructions
 

  • Wash and clean toordal.
  • Cook toor dal for 5 minutes in a cooker,ie 3 whistles.After that put off stove.
  • When steam gone we can open the cooker and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a kadai add mustards.When mustards splutters add cumin seeds and red chilli saute for 2 minutes.
  • Add green chillies,saute for a minute.
  • Add coriander powder,chilli powder saute for a minute.
  • Add garlic flakes and turmeric powder and saute for 2 minutes.
  • Add cooked toordal to this masala add 1/2 cup water and salt boil for 2 minutes,until it becomes thick
  • Now dal tadka is ready to serve.
