Khara Pongal
It is the easiest and simplest breakfast. - khara pongal

- 1/2 cup Raw rice
- 1/4 cup dal
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Oil
- 1 tsp Ghee
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 tsp Pepper
- 2 Red chilly
- 1 tsp Ginger
- 1 cup Water
Cook toor both dal and rice together with 2 cup of water salt for 4 to 5 whistles,ie for 5 minutes.
Heat oil and ghee in a kadai add cumin seeds and pepper a d ginger , saute for 2 minutes.
Add red chilly also and saute for 2 minutes.
Add cashews and saute till it turns brown.
Then pour this over rice and dal mix.
Mix all together well.Heat for 2 minutes in low flame,
Now khara pongal is ready .Serve hot with sambhar and coconut chutney.
