Palak Chawal
very healthy and delicious rice prepared with spinach leaves. It is a very good lunch for kids.

- 2 cups Pachhari raw rice
- 1 cup Cleaned and sliced Palak Spinach
- 1 tspn Red Chilli Powder
- ½ tspn Turmeric Powder
- ½ tspn Cumin Seeds
- 1 tspn Blackgram Dhal
- 1 Cup Sliced Onion
- ½ cup Sliced Tomato
- Salt As required
- 3 – Coconut/Refined Oil
Cook the raw rice, remove the water from it completely and keep it aside to cool the cooked rice.
Heat Oil in a frying pan and then add Cumin seeds, Blackgram dhal and stir it
When the colour of this mix turns into golden, add the sliced Onion and Tomato into it and stir the mix forabout another 2-3 minutes
Add Red Chilli powder, Turmeric Powder and salt
Also add the Palak (spinach) pieces into this mix and stir it well and allow to cook the Palak some time.
Add the cooked rice into this mix and stir it further
PalakChawal (Spinach Rice) is ready and it can be served with Chutney/Pickle
