Palak Chawal

very healthy and delicious rice prepared with spinach leaves. It is a very good lunch for kids.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Pachhari raw rice
  • 1 cup Cleaned and sliced Palak Spinach
  • 1 tspn Red Chilli Powder
  • ½ tspn Turmeric Powder
  • ½ tspn Cumin Seeds
  • 1 tspn Blackgram Dhal
  • 1 Cup Sliced Onion
  • ½ cup Sliced Tomato
  • Salt As required
  • 3 Coconut/Refined Oil

Instructions
 

  • Cook the raw rice, remove the water from it completely and keep it aside to cool the cooked rice.
  • Heat Oil in a frying pan and then add Cumin seeds, Blackgram dhal and stir it
  • When the colour of this mix turns into golden, add the sliced Onion and Tomato into it and stir the mix forabout another 2-3 minutes
  • Add Red Chilli powder, Turmeric Powder and salt
  • Also add the Palak (spinach) pieces into this mix and stir it well and allow to cook the Palak some time.
  • Add the cooked rice into this mix and stir it further
  • PalakChawal (Spinach Rice) is ready and it can be served with Chutney/Pickle
