Pumpkin Sambhar
a very popular dish and occupies an important place in South Indian menu. It is a good combo with boiled rice.

- 1/4 cup Toor dal
- Pumpkin1/2 cup
- 1/2 cup Onion
- 3 cup Water
- 1 tsp Fenugreek seeds
- 1 tsp Sambhar powder
- 2 Tomato
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 Tomato
- 3 Red chilly
- 1 tsp Urad dal
- 1 tsp Asafoetida
Cook dal in 3 cups of water.
Cook pumpkin in 1/2 cup water.
Heat oil in a kadai and add mustard.
.when mustard splutters add fenugreek seeds , urad dal and redchilly.
Add sambhar powder and curry leaf , saute for 2 minutes.
Mix together cooked pumpkin ,onions tomatoes asafoetida and tempering in a vessel.
Add cooked dal also to this. Boil for 5 minutes till it becomes little thick.
Now hot pumpkin sambhar is ready to serve with hot rice.
