Chawli / Black eyed beans : ½ cup
Onions grated : 3 nos
Tomatoes grated : 2 nos
Garlic ginger paste : 1 tsp
Cinnamon : 1” pc

Whole jeera : ½ tsp
Turmeric powder : ½ tsp
Jeera powder : ½ tsp
Red chilli powder : ½ tsp
Coriander powder : ½ tsp
Garam masala powder : ½ tsp
Oil : 3 tsp
Salt : to taste
Freshly chopped coriander leaves : few
Instructions
Soak chawli in water overnight.
Boil for 3 whistles in a pressure cooker.
Heat oil in a pan and add the cinnamon stick and cloves and for a minute.

Add the grated onion and fry till it turns golden brown.
Add ginger garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
Add grated tomatoes and all the dry masala powders and salt.
Cover and cook on a low flame till the oil separates from the masala.
Add the boiled chawli and 1 cup water and simmer on a low flame for 5 minutes.

Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with rice / roti.
