First powder the oats. In a bowl, mix oats powdered, baking soda, flour, salt, garam masala, turmeric, coriander. 2) Add water and make a smooth batter.(Like normal idly batter).
Keep aside for 15 minutes.4) Prepare idly out of it.5) When done, chop the idlies into cubes and keep aside.
In a frying pan, sauté onion, green chillies, garlic and ginger. Grind this into paste.7) In the pan, heat little oil. Fry onion chopped till brown.
Add the ground masala and fry again.9) Add turmeric, meat masala, coriander and salt.10) Add the oats idly and sauté well.
Add 2 cups of water and cook the masala.12) When done, transfer into a serving bowl, and serve hot with chappathi.
OPTIONAL:13) The prepared masala can also be deep fried in a pan .
