- For preparing Idichakka Thoran, remove the skin off the idichakka and cut into small pieces. 
- Cook it along with turmeric powder and salt. 
- Place grated coconut, green chillies, cumin seeds, garlic and curry leaves in a mixer bowl and run it once to make it into a coarse form. 
- Similarly, place the cooked idichakka pieces in the mixer bowl and run it just once to mince it again. 
- :- Make sure that the idichakka is not overcooked as the whole thing may get mashed. 
- Mix together the coconut mixture and the minced idichakka. 
- Heat oil in a pan or a kadai. 
- Splutter mustard seeds and saute red chillies, plain rice and curry leaves. 
- Lower the flame, stir in cooked idichakka mixture, cover and cook for about 2 mins. 
- Remove the lid and stir well. 
- Continue to cook, till done. 
- :- Make sure Idichakka Thoran doesn't get mashed.
