Ghee Rice Restaurant Style

An easy recipe for ghee rice

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups Basmati rice
  • 2 tsp Ghee
  • 1 no Onion
  • 1/2 of Carrot
  • Salt As reqd
  • 2 - Cardamom
  • 2 - Cinnamon
  • 2 - Cloves
  • 6 cups Water
  • Fried onions, raisins and cashew nuts for garnishing
  • Coriander leaves

Instructions
 

  • Soak rice in water for 30 minutes. Drain and keep it aside.
  • In a deep pan, heat ghee.
  • Add the whole spices and saute for a few seconds.
  • Add chopped onion and carrot and saute for some time.
  • Add 6 cups of water.
  • When the water boils, add rice and salt.
  • Cover and cook till the water is fully absorbed and the rice is cooked.
  • Transfer the contents to a serving platter.
  • Garnish with fried onions, raisins, cashew nuts and coriander leaves.
