Malabar Eethappazham Pori (date Fritters)

A tea time snack made by stuffing cashew nuts into slit dates and deep fried.

Ingredients
  

  • 200 g Dates
  • 50 g Cashew nuts split

For preparing batter:

  • 1 Egg
  • 1/4 Coconut grated
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 400 g All purpose flour Maida
  • Oil As reqd for frying
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • Make a thick batter of egg, coconut, sugar, maida and required salt.
  • Slit the dates and remove seeds.
  • Stuff the cashew nuts inside dates.
  • Dip the dates in this batter and deep fry till golden in color.
  • Malabar eethappazham pori is ready and enjoy.
