Cinnamon Rolls

All purpose flour doughs layered with cinnamon and sugar

  • 2 cups All Purpose flour Maida
  • 1 tsp Active dry yeast
  • 1 no Egg
  • 3 tbsp Melted butter
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 3 tbsp Sugar
  • Salt a pinch
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Cinnamon powder
  • 2 tsp Butter


  • Oven friendly tray greased with oil or butter.


  • Make a dough by mixing flour, egg, salt, sugar,melted butter and milk. :- Use milk slowly and as required as dough can become soggy.
  • Keep the dough ball in an oiled bowl and cover with a damp kitchen cloth and let it rise to twice its size(takes around an hour)
  • Dust your counter top with flour and roll out the dough to a rectangular shape of 1/2 cm thick.
  • Grease the dough bed with 2 tsp or more butter.
  • Make a mix of brown sugar and cinnamon powder and spread it on the greased dough bed.
  • Now from the smallest side, roll in the dough using your hands to a tight cylindrical shape.
  • Now you have a dough log / cylinder.
  • Cut the log into slices of around 3 cm thickness.
  • Layer them on a greased tray with enough space between rolls and cover with damp cloth.
  • Let them sit for 15 minutes.
  • After 15 minutes bake them in the oven for 20 mts in 350F.
