Kerala Yummy Chicken Curry

Hot and Spicy chicken curry

Ingredients
  

  • 1 kg Chicken pieces cut into medium size pieces, add pinch of salt and keep it aside for 10 - 20 mins
  • 10 nos Garlic pods
  • 2" piece Ginger
  • 3 nos Onions thinly sliced, medium
  • 3 nos Tomato sliced, medium
  • 4 nos Green chillies medium hot
  • 10 nos Pepper corns
  • 1 dsp Turmeric powder
  • Tamarind A pinch, Puli
  • 1 dsp Chilly powder
  • Salt As reqd
  • Oil
  • 1 tsp Vinegar

Spices to be powdered:-

  • 1 no Cardamom Elakka
  • 6 nos Cloves Grambu
  • 1 dsp Aniseeds Perinjeerakam
  • 2" piece Cinnamon Karugapatta

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a non sticky pan.
  • SautT ginger pieces and when it turns slight brown, add garlic pods and continue to sautT.
  • Add onions followed by tomato and green chillies and saute.
  • When tomato begin to dissolve, add pepper, turmeric powder, tamarind, chilly powder and salt.
  • Continue to sautT and add the spice powders.
  • Take it out from the pan and grind it in a mixer thoroughly.
  • Heat up the same pan.
  • Add little oil in it.
  • Add the chicken pieces.
  • Add one spoon of vinegar and cook it for 5 mins in the pan.
  • Add the ground ingredients.
  • Add one glass of warm water and close the pan and cook it until the gravy gets thick.
  • :- Serve hot.
