Punjabi Rajma Masala

Punjabi style Rajma(Red kidney beans) Masala

Ingredients
  

  • 200 gm Red kidney beans Rajma
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin powder Jeerakam
  • 1 no Onion medium
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  • 2 tsp Curd
  • 3 tsp Tomato puree
  • 2 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Kasuri methi
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Chilly powder As reqd
  • Coriander leaves A few
  • Salt As reqd
  • Oil As reqd

Instructions
 

  • Soak rajma in water overnight.
  • Add salt and water to Rajma and pressure cook.
  • Grind onion into a paste.
  • Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
  • Add cumin powder, onion paste and stir, till it turns light brown.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste and stir for 2 mins.
  • Add curd and stir well, until it turns brown.
  • Add tomato puree followed by coriander powder, chilly powder and kasuri methi and stir for 2 - 3 mins.
  • Add the mixture to the cooked rajma and pressure cook upto 1 whistle.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • :- You can also cook the onions before making it into a paste.
