For preparing Cheera Curry Malabar Style, first wash and clean the spinach well.
Separate the leaves from the stem and cut them into small sections.
Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan or a kadai.
Saute onion pieces, till they become soft.
Add the spinach or cheera along with the green chillies.
Add turmeric powder and salt and mix well.
Pour a little water.
Cover and cook for 2 mins.
Grind together the ingredients for grinding along with a little water in a mixer grinder.
:- This need not be made into a very fine paste.
Open the lid of the kadai and add the ground paste.
Mix well with a spoon.
Cover again and cook for another 3 mins.
:- The curry should be thick in texture. So limit the amount of water.
Remove the pan from the flame.
Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan or a kadai.
Splutter mustard seeds.
Add the chopped small onions and curry leaves.
Saute, till the onions turn golden brown.
Pour the seasoning over the Cheera Curry Malabar Style and mix well.
