Tuna Cutlets

A good appetizer - cutlets made with canned tuna

  • 4 cans Canned tuna
  • 3 nos Potato baked or steamed and smashed, medium
  • 1 no Onion finely chopped, large
  • 4 nos Green chillies finely chopped
  • 4 nos Garlic pods finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Ginger finely chopped
  • Curry leaves A few
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Red chilly powder
  • Salt As reqd
  • 2 nos Eggs beaten
  • Bread crumbs
  • Oil for deep frying


  • Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan.
  • Fry onion, green chillies, garlic, ginger and curry leaves, until the color starts changing.
  • Add chilly powder and black pepper. Keep it aside.
  • Mix the canned tuna with the mashed potatoes.
  • Add the fried items to this along with salt and mix well.
  • Shape small portions into oval cutlets.
  • Dip them in beaten egg and then cover them in bread crumbs.
  • Deep fry in oil, until golden brown.
  • :- Serve them with Tomato Ketchup.
